Consilium Psychology
Consilium Psychology is a forensic practice offering both clinical and forensic assessment, treatment and consultation to psycholegal matters. In addition to working across the justice context, we provide a range of clinical assessments and therapeutic services for a variety of mental health concerns and diagnoses.
We have a breadth of experience working with individuals across the lifespan and with varying levels of cognitive functioning in both community and custodial settings.
Here at Consilium Psychology we offer advice and consultancy to health and social service agencies, government departments, non-government organisations and individuals navigating the legal system.
We provide expertise in risk assessments, formulations, treatment plans, risk management plans, psycho-legal reports (criminal & civil), offence specific program development (sexual violence) and conducting individual and/or group interventions.
Working with non-government organisations we have developed bespoke packages for direct support staff and mental health professionals to assist them in working with forensic clients with mental health concerns, forensic issues or who may have a cognitive deficit or intellectual disability.
So what is a Forensic Psychologist?
Forensic psychology is a distinct area of psychology research and practice that focuses on the application of psychological knowledge, theory and skills to legal decision-making. A Forensic Psychologists involvement assist Courts and other Tribunals make legal decisions, such as determining facts, implementing sentences or mediating disputes.
Forensic Psychologists undergo extensive education and training in risk assessment, mental health and procedures of law and often work in criminal, civil and family legal contexts and provide services for litigants, perpetrators, victims and personnel of government and community organisations.

Mr Christian Cabrera has a Masters in Psychology (Forensic) and is a qualified Forensic Psychologist with over 15 years of experience. This has included working across a variety of forensic and clinical settings specialising in working with individuals with cognitive deficits or intellectual disabilities.
